This Privacy Policy explains how Gold Price Cafe LLC ("Gold Price Cafe", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in connection with the GoldPrice.Cafe website, dashboard, APIs, and the Gold Price Cafe iOS and Android mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). This Policy covers personal information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to you. "Personal information" includes contact data, identifiers, device information, and content you submit through chat or community features. • Display name, username, or profile information when participating in chat or comments.
• Contact details and the contents of messages you send to privacy@goldprice.cafe or through support forms.
• Portfolio calculator inputs or other data you choose to store locally on your device.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data, including IP address, device identifiers, operating system version, browser type, app version, referring URLs, and the pages or screens you view.
• Approximate location inferred from IP address or regional settings in order to recommend a default currency or comply with export-controls. No precise GPS location is collected.
• Diagnostic data, crash reports, and performance metrics supplied by Apple, Google, or our service providers (for example, Sentry) to troubleshoot issues.
• Cookies and similar technologies limited to essential functions such as session continuity and remembering preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.

Information from third parties

• Analytics reports or aggregate usage insights from hosting, database, and monitoring vendors.
• App marketplace feedback (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play) that we receive to address support incidents.

3. How We Use Information

• Deliver core functionality such as streaming spot prices, historical charts, and news.
• Authenticate sessions, detect abuse, and keep community features safe and moderated.
• Provide customer support, respond to requests, and send important service communications.
• Maintain the security, integrity, and availability of our infrastructure and data.
• Analyze aggregate usage to improve performance, accessibility, and product decisions.
• Comply with contractual obligations, applicable laws, and law-enforcement requests.

For users located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (such as securing and improving the Service), consent (where required for optional features), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We only use strictly necessary cookies to remember preferences, maintain session continuity, and keep you signed in. Because we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, our Service responds uniformly to "Do Not Track" signals.

We do not sell personal information. We may share information in the following cases:

• Service providers: Infrastructure, analytics, and customer support vendors (including hosting providers, database partners, and Sentry for crash reporting) that are bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements.

6. Data Retention

We retain chat transcripts, moderation logs, and analytics data for up to 12 months unless a longer period is required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. System backups follow a rolling schedule and are purged automatically. When information is no longer needed it is deleted or de-identified.

7. Security

We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards such as encryption in transit, access controls, logging, vulnerability management, and least-privilege practices. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute protection, but we continually assess and improve our controls.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by emailing privacy@goldprice.cafe. Depending on your locale, you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, request data portability, or withdraw consent. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request and respond within the timelines required by applicable law.

California residents may exercise CCPA rights to know, delete, or opt out of certain processing (we do not sell personal information). EEA/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority if they believe our processing violates data-protection law.

9. Mobile App Permissions & Platform Disclosures

• Approximate location: Used only to pre-select a preferred currency. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates, and location data never leaves our servers except for the derived currency preference.
• Network access: Required to request market data, sync news, and deliver updates.
• Diagnostics and crash reports: Supplied by Apple and Sentry to detect bugs and stability issues. These reports may include anonymized device identifiers, OS version, and traces of the actions that led to a crash.
• Local storage: Used to remember preferences such as currency selection and portfolio calculator inputs on your device.

10. International Transfers

We operate from the United States and may process information in other countries where our service providers are located. When transferring personal information from the EEA or UK we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new practices or regulatory requirements. We will post the revised Policy with an updated effective date, and when changes are material we will provide additional notice (such as an in-app banner). Continued use of the Service indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
